Resilience is the ability to cope with difficult situations. Parents and teachers can help children learn how to be resilient (PDF 371KB)
Help your child learn to respond rather than react. Parents can model the strategy by using the stop, think, do (PDF 425KB) out loud when dealing with their own problems.
Co-regulation (PDF 463KB) is when a calm adult soothes a child they become ‘in tune’ with each other. Being ‘in tune’ with an adult helps the child learn to manage emotions and how to calm down.
